Enjoy Sweet Business Success With Promotional Lollipops

There is contention as to who invented the lollipop, but according to Wikipedia, they were invented by George Smith in the USA in 1908 and subsequently trademarked the name lollipop in 1931, supposedly after a racehorse at the time called Lolly Pop. Saying this, archaeological findings confirm ancient Chinese, Arab and Egyptian people used sticks to collect honey from hives and would lick the sticks to not waste the honey. Archaeologists also believe they “candied” fruit and nuts in honey to act as a preservative and inserted sticks to make it easier to eat.

Whichever version you want to believe – and there are many others – there is one thing we can’t deny. Lollipops are delicious and people love them. They are perfect for promotional events where mass marketing is required. They are also a sneaky way to get parents to your trade booth or store. Offer free lollipops for the kids and the parents are forced to come inside. Lollipops come in all shapes and sizes and besides hard candy styles, there are now yummy chocolate options that can be done to any custom shape.

The traditional shape is round and you can either get them in solid colours or the famous coloured swirls. They are individually wrapped due to their stickiness and are branded with a full colour printed sticker on the outside. You can purchase them in bulk for a very cheap price or you can get them in containers with many lollipops inside.

Lollipops offer great advertising opportunities for businesses and there is a multitude of ways you can use them to promote your business. They are perfect for companies that want to entice people to shop longer or give them something memorable as they leave. Everyone loves a sweet surprise, so offer them at the front of your shop so people have something to suck on while they browse your shop. You could even strategically place some containers around your shop for visitors to unexpectedly come across.

Promotional lollipops also work well at fundraising events. You can give one of these tasty treats each time someone makes a donation to your cause. They can also be handed out as party favours or as a way to drive traffic to your trade show booth. Do you tend to have long waits or delays for clients to see you? Have a big jar of lollipops at the reception desk that can be offered out as a peacemaker.

There are so many ways you can use lollipops to the benefit of your business, along with other yummy confectionery.
