6 Must-Try Confectionery Packaging Options For Your Brand

It’s no secret that packaging makes a significant impact on the success of your product. The best confectionery packaging options should match your brand’s identity and entice potential customers to buy your product over the competition.

Here are six must-try confectionery options to help you design effective packaging for your brand and sell more products to customers at all stages of the purchasing cycle.

Boxes
You don’t need to be a consumer of chocolate bars and fruit gums to know that certain products come in handy, reusable boxes. In fact, most products are packaged in boxes. From chocolates to cheese, there is always a box for your product. These packaging options are very attractive and presentable for showing off your brand. They’re an excellent investment for items you want to sell online or at markets and trade shows.

Bags
Bags can be made from biodegradable materials, including corn starch and potato starch. Some companies have even gone so far as to produce waterproof bags with a twist of a zipper or sealable flap. To make your brand stand out on store shelves, customise these bags with your company logo or design. Furthermore, look for options that will work best for each confectionery product. If you’re selling gummy bears, you’ll want a bag that will keep your sweets fresh while also allowing customers to see what they are buying; individual gummy bear containers would not be ideal in such an instance.

Containers
These are essentially forms of packaging used to store and preserve something. Typical container options include glass jars, plastic bottles, wooden boxes and metal tins. There are benefits to choosing each option depending on what you’re putting in them: for example, glass provides a more classic look; metal tins can be sleek or rustic; wood is visually appealing and can allow you to show off an intricate design; while plastic bottles and jars can easily be labelled with your brand name or logo.

Jars
Empty plastic jars with custom labels can be a great way to package your products. The jars can be reused and are typically very durable, perfect for heavy items such as confectionery. Many custom label options are available, making it easy to create something unique.

Tins
If you’re selling a bite-sized treat, tins are one of your best packaging options. Tins can be decorated in any way you like and help make your confectionery look more premium. There are some downsides to choosing a tin as your confectionery packaging – they’re difficult to re-seal, can quickly start looking dated and don’t offer much protection if someone drops or knocks over your product on their way out of a store.

Novelty
Novelty is an excellent way to grab consumer attention. Suppose you can create a brand with an unusual look, such as unusually shaped candies or candies that have other popular products embedded inside of them. In that case, you’ll get people’s attention and could turn it into sales. Just make sure that your customers want what you come up with; novelty isn’t always fun if no one enjoys it. Products like these are also useful for seasonal offerings — who doesn’t love getting new looks for their candy stash?
